Will Transcript

In the Name of God Amen, I Jacob Nafe say of the County of Franklin being sick and weak but of sound mind and disposing memory for which I thank God and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life, and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with first I desire that as much of my personal estate be sold after my decease and out of the monies arising therefrom all my just debts be paid, second, I desire that my estate be kept together until my youngest son Isaac becomes to the age of twenty one years, thirdly I desire that my land be divided into three equal parts between my three sons Jacob Nafe, and Abraham Nafe and Issaac Nafe to be valued to them at that time when Isaac becomes of age, then the three to pay one hundred and fifty dollars anually each one according to the value of his land, and I want my beloved wife to keep one room of our dwelling house in full possession until death and to Draw of the money fifty dollars a year during her life, and to keep one cow as long as she pleases and two beds with furniture and when Isaac becomes of age all the balance of the perishable property to be sold and Equally divided among my eleven children also the money arising from the land to be equally divided to George one Shear to Jacob one Shear to John one Shear unto Abraham one Shear unto Isaac one shear unto Catherine one Shear unto Elizabeth one Shear unto Hannah one share unto Mary one shear unto Rebecca one shear unto Susannah one shear and lastly I do hereby consitute and appoint my fore sons George Nafe and Jacob Nafe and John Nafe and Abfraham Nafe Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other or former Wills or Testaments by me heretofore maid in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 22th day of December 1828.

At a Court held for Franklin County the 2d Day of March 1829 This last Will and Testament of Jacob Nafe dec'd was produced in Court and proved by the Oath of Isaac Nafe John Arthur Jr. and David Nafe the subscrbing Witnesses and ordered to be recorded, and on the motion of George Nafe and Jacob Nafe two fo the Executors in said Will named who took the oath prescribed by law, and entered into bond and security according to law certificate is granted them for obtaining a Probat in due form, liberty being reserved to the other executors named in the said Will to join in the Probat when they shall think fit..
