Jacob A. Mortimer, 88, of Apache Junction, Ariz., a Rimersburg native, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, in Apache Junction. Born Nov. 8, 1912, in Rimersburg, he was a son of C.H. Mortimer and Fannie Randolf Mortimer. He was a U.S. Marine Corps member and a World War II veteran. Mr. Mortimer was a self-employed carpenter in the construction field. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW in Pennsylvania. Mr. Mortimer enjoyed square dancing. He was married 67 years to his wife, Lucille Mortimer, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Ernest Mortimer and his wife, Faye, of Riton, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Barbara) Moschetti of Apache Junction; two sisters, Daisy Harn and Helen Montgomery, both of Beaver; a brother, Paul Mortimer; 12 grandchildren, Randolf, Teresa, Timothy, Mark, Keith, Ashley, Tammi, Larry, Cindy, Dino, Martin and Ronda; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Rimersburg. Mesa Funeral Care at Mariposa Gardens, P.O. Box 6540, Mesa, Ariz., is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rimersburg Cemetery.
