I am writing to identify and claim 3 passengers on the ship James Goodwill
    9-30-1727.
Jacob Gass, Sr. b. 12-15-1667 in Rithenfluh Switzerland; son of Heinrich
and Anna M. Gass. Jacob married to Anna Wyss in 1692 in Switzerland. They
had a total of 6 children; Heinrich, Jacob, Martin, Frederick, Jakob and
    Maria.
Only two of those children made the trip to America with them.
Jacob Gass Jr. b. 12-7-1704 married unknown
Frederich Gass b. 4-9-1701 married unknown.
These dates and the fact of immigration is found in the church records of
Rithenfluh. It is believed that the total number of 6 in this party are
    the men and their wives.
Jacob Gass Sr. took the oath in Philadelphia as did the other two men. The
families migrated to York county PA and in 1740 to Rowan county NC. At least
Frederick did as I have lost trace of Jacob Jr. Frederick appears in the
courts in Rowan county in 1766. The elder Jacob Gass Sr is thought to have
died in PA as there has never been anything found in Rowan county, NC.
    Frederick born in 1701 had 4 known children: Frederick I born in 1720;
    Ephraim b. 1740-1747; Joseph born 1740-1747; Catherina b. unk d. 2-13-1789.
She married a Von Huffen. Frederick's children resided in Rowan county NC,
by 1810 most of his descendants had migrated to Washington county IN.
