Died--In this city, December 26, of general debility, Maj. Jacob V. Fulkerson, aged 84 years.
Major Fulkerson was born in Lee county, Va., and resided there nearly all his life, removing to this place only a few years ago. Of his children who live in this vicinity, are Mrs. Dr. Wm. E. Frick, Oak Grove; Dr. P.S. Fulkerson, Mrs. Emma Reeder and Dr. J.J. Fulkerson. Major Fulkerson was a most estimable citizen, a kindly, genial gentleman, a true friend and a tender father. A ripe sheaf ready for the harvest, in the fullness of age he has gone to his fathers full of honors. He was buried from the Presbyterian church, last Sunday morning. Rev. Geo. L. Leyburn preaching an eloquent and earnest sermon, holding up to his audience the example of a good man's life.
