BUTERFELD, Jacobe, s. twin, Josiph and Lidiah, [born] Oct. 14, 1689-90. [Oct. 1,. CT.R.] [Note: There would be no reason to use double dating for a date in October. Even if it was month 10, i.e., December, double-dating would not be required, but there is no evidence that was the case. The only common situation would be a page header indicating the page starts in 1689 and ends in 1690, in which case, October would be 1689, so that is assumed. CT.R. is the return submitted to the Middlesex County Quarterly Court, hence a copy, so assumed less reliable than the original record of 14 Oct.]
