"He graduated from Medical University, Louisville, Ky. in 1850 He went to Nelson Co., Ky. for two years and then moved to Harrisonville, Cass Co., Missouri. He m. 1st, Mary E. Bryant, June 22, 1852. In 1862 he enlisted in the Confederate Army and was a 1st lieut. and regimental surgeon. Captured and given parole because of disability he lived in Ky. and Ill. until 1865, when he returned to Harrisonville. He served in the Missouri legislature in 1876. In his later years he lived on his farm in Cass Co."
