Jacob Blickensderfer. He was born in the Palatinate, Feb. 15, 1752. He travelled with his parents, Christian and Catharina (Shurger) Blickensderfer, in his second year, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Lived in Lititz until 1766, when he moved to York, Pennsylvania where he married Elizabeth Ilgenfritz and attached himself to the Lutheran church.
A year before his death he returned to this neighborhood (Lititz). He contracted camp fever while furnishing supplies to the hospital of Revolutionary war soldiers at Lititz. Died Jan. 20, of the epidemic 'camp-fever,' aged twenty-six years. Camp fever claimed his mother's life a week later.
