There are two J Fitzgeralds who could be Mary Hickey's husband - J M Fitzgerald, or John J (possibly Joseph) Fitzgerald.

Mary Fitzgerald (child of Patrick and Mary Hickey) passed away on November 30, 1891. She was born in Rogersville, TN and the cause of death was childbirth. In the records for Calvary Cemetery, she is listed as Mary Hickey Fitzgerald, wife of J.M. with her date of birth as June 10, 1855, and her date of death as November 29, 1891. John J. Fitzgerald in the records for Calvary Cemetery listed the date of birth as June 1857? and date of death as January 31, 1928. In the death records, John Fitzgerald that passed away on January 31, 1928. He is listed as being 72 years old. He was buried on February 2, 1928, in the Maroney Lot.

The census lists the first five people as Edward, 35, a rail road hand and Mary, 30, both born in Ireland, Catherine, 6 and John, 4 born in Virginia, and Morris, 1, born in Tennessee, so this should be parents and children? Another John Fitzgerald, 28, born in Ireland also lived with them, as did Michael Connor, 30, Henry Hegland, 35, Thomas Sayers, 30 and John Mc Donald, 45, all rail road hands, all born in Ireland.

Head of household was Mary C Fitzgerald, 65, John's widowed mother from Ireland, who could not read or write, owned her home free of mortgage, and was the mother of 8 children, 4 living. The children living with her were John, Maggie, 28, born in Tennessee and Johana Miller 35, a Saleswoman born in Tennessee and widowed, and her children Elizabeth, 11 and Mary M Miller, 10 both born in Tennessee.

John and Mary Keys lived close to the Fitzgerald, Miller and O'Connor families.

Head of household was Joe Miller, 40, a store clerk born in Tennessee, a widow with 2 children, 2 living. Her daughter living with her was Mary, 19, Single, born in Tennessee. Also in the household was Joe's Uncle John Keys, 82 and widowed, born in Ireland, immigrated 1855, a naturalized citizen. The family lived at 114 Park St. NOTE: 1900 Census shows a John and Mary Keys living close to the Fitzgerald, Miller and O'Connor families.
