When Ivan's mother (Beatrice Julia) died at 7 Strong St Terang in 1931, Keith & Allan went to Uncle Charlie & Auntie Lizzie (Charles William Gore & his wife Elizabeth Ann Bailey) at Dixie. Mai stayed with Walter, Ivan & Les. Grace, Nan & Merle went to their older sister, Mercy. Nan apparently cried non stop for 3 weeks and went back to her father. Ivan was a terrific cook and an excellent housekeeper. The house was kept spotless, table scrubbed and the stove polished. He knitted all his own jumpers (including fair isle vests). He even sewed dresses for Nan when she was small. In 1937, Walter, Ivan, Les, Mai, Nan, Stan and his wife Nancy all lived in a small 2 bedroom farmhouse at Dixie south of Terang. The older boys, Ivan and Les, slept on the verandah. Stan and Nancy had one bedroom. Stan and Nancy moved into Terang when Norma was born in 1938. In 1939, Walter and Ivan were on a farm at Choclyn north of Camperdown. Walter & Ivan milked a small herd of cows and also did fencing for other farmers. The next place they moved to was Donald's Hill on the Cobden Road just out of Camperdown.

    Dear Sandra,
Thanks for your email with Myrtle's details. Please accept my sincere apologies for having buried Myrtle off before her time.
I have attached The Legacy family record printout for Walter Sharp & Beatrice Julia Sharp (nee Gore).
Stan's daughter, Norma, has been helping me with researching the Gore and Sharp connection.
As you can see I still have a few gaps.
    Norma told me the following
When Ivan's mother (Beatrice Julia) died at 7 Strong St Terang in 1931,
Keith & Allan went to Uncle Charlie & Auntie Lizzie (Charles William Gore & his wife Elizabeth Ann Bailey) at Dixie.
Mai stayed with Walter, Ivan & Les.

I hope you find the report and the above of interest.
Nan & Mai are both still alive.
Do you happen to have a copy of Ivan's birth or death certificate?
I do not have many certificates on this branch of the family yet?
I have Beatrice Julia's Birth, Marriage and death certificates and her baby daughter Gwen's death certificate.
Do you know how Ivan and Myrtle met?
    Cheers for now
    Ros Bamford
