Ivan Victor Clark, 86, passed Sept. 3, 2012, at home in Terre Haute. He was born July 24, 1926, in Topeka, Kan., to James Lawrence and Evelyn Gertrude Plants Clark.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carolyn A. Nadzeika Clark; sons, Victor Allen Clark (Susan) of Poplar Bluff, Mo., George Lawrence Clark of Terre Haute; daughter, Patricia Ann Williams (Bert) of Terre Haute, and one brother-in-law; Michael Nadzeika of Cape Cod, Mass. He has five grandchildren, Jared Williams, Brad Williams, Becky Swenson, Robert Tyler Clark, and Jenny Clark; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Katheryn Clark of Kehma, Texas, and brothers, Lawrence and Chester Clark.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II serving aboard the USS Clarence K. Bronson and was at Tokyo Bay when the Japanese surrendered. Ivan, aka Big I, was a 60 year member of Plumbers and Steamfitters local 157. He was a member of the American Legion 104, VFW 972 and was a senior member of the Murdoch Racing Club. His hobbies were fishing — especially on the Wabash and Current rivers, NASCAR and the many races he attended. He also enjoyed traveling, camping, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, growing a home garden producing wonderful tomatoes and bell peppers, and his beloved rescued pets – Tassey, Boomer and Rusty.

Ivan was much loved and will be missed by many. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and friends, just anyone in need.
