Census[2] 6 Jan 1920 Coddle Creek, Iredell Co, NC
Death[3] 22 Jan 1955 Mooresville, Iredell, North Carolina, United States

Isabelle Fortner, age 12, is a servant in the household of Ruben Mayberry in Gwaltneys, Alexander Co, NC. There are multiple families of Shoemakers in the county (although none are headed by Noah, Abner, or Pauline.)

Marriage records for Dora Fortner, age 14, in 1901, gives her parents as John Stutman and Isabelle Morrow. That would be the Dora age 12 in the 1900 census with Isabelle and Stephen. Her children listed her maiden name as “Morrow” on their death certificates, but this is likely a misunderstanding, because her husband Miles was Stephen's grandson.
