Isabell Babcock

PLATTE CITY, Mo. -- Isabell (Hamersky) Babcock, 77, Platte City, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at a North Kansas City, Mo., hospital.
Mrs. Babcock was a customer service representative for the United Telephone Co. until her retirement.
Born in Maryville, Mo., on Dec. 8, 1921, she moved to Platte City in 1944. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, Mo.
On June 24, 1944, she married Lloyd E. Babcock in Kansas City. He died in 1994.
Mrs. Babcock also was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Surviving: a son Gerald, Kansas City; a daughter, Loretta A. O'Connell, Kansas City; four brothers, Francis Hamersky, Imperial Beach, Calif., Al Hamersky, Huntington Beach, Calif., Vic Hamersky, Tecumseh, Kan., and Richard Hamersky, Spokane, Wash.; five stepbrothers, Irvin Wilhelm, Netawaka, Kan., Marvin Wilhelm, Kansas City, Francis Wilhelm, Oklahoma, Joe Wilhelm, Davenport, Iowa, and Vollie Wilhelm, Soldier, Kan.; three sisters, Dorothy Gray, Spokane, Christina Nigh, Bethlehem, Pa., and Phyllis Phillips, Independence, Mo.; two stepsisters, Geraldine Schmelze, Effingham, Kan., and Ethel Baumgartner, Sabetha, Kan.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Saturday, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Weston. Burial: Platte City Cemetery. Family visitation: 6:30 to 8 tonight, at the Rollins Funeral Home, Platte City, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 tonight. Memorials may be made to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
