Case 7186 Briggs Isaac Athol 1837.
Will of "Isaac Briggs of Athol", dated 9 Oct 1835, heirs cited 6 Sep 1837, proved 20 Oct 1837, names wife Polly; daughters Polly Stockwell, Nancy Fairbanks, Betsey Stockwell, Sophronia Briggs [unmarried], and Esther Bancroft; sons Isaac, David and John; son Moses Briggs. Son Moses to be executor.
- ↑ No record of his birth has been found, specifically not in either Taunton nor Norton VRs. Secondary sources give at least 3 different dates, so it is hard to think that these are more than copying from other sources they saw. The genealogy cited gives 1 Nov 1762 on one page, 11 Nov 1762 on another. Source:Briggs, Everett Francis. Briggs Memorial, p. 31, gives 11 Nov 1762, but on p. 6 gives 12 Nov 1762. The Find A Grave memorial gives 12 Nov 1762, also found in an article in NEHGR, p. 126:125. The last is probably the most authoritative, but the basis of none of the asserted date is known.
