- ↑ Source:Briggs, Mary Balch. We and Our Kinsfolk, p. 71, says this couple had 11 children of whom 8 lived to adulthood. It only bothers to name the 8 surviving children.
Of the eight surviving, it lists Levi, who d. Athol 1852, b. 1767. No birth record is found in Norton, nor in Taunton where his death record says he is born. Further, his death record lists his father as Jacob.
Of the 3 who died before adulthood, only 2 death records are found and no unaccounted birth records, so no clues about who the third one is. Perhaps, the unnamed daughter of "James 2d", who died in Taunton May 1763. No other children of this James appear to be recorded in Taunton and a more indepth study of the family would be needed to see if this James would qualify as James 2d in Taunton.
