Irving Reid was born in November 1899 in New York. He was the son of Mary Reid, formerly Shields, and her husband Stephen Reid, a bricklayer. Irving appears in the 1900 census living with his parents and brothers at 985 East 161st Street in the Bronx.

Sadly Irving died just short of his fourth birthday, on 27th October 1903.
