DEATH: Irene's date and place of birth are unknown. She died Sep. 17, 1872 in Madison Co., Iowa, and was buried there in the Leonard Smith Cemetery, near Boonville, Iowa. On May 5, 1866 Irene was united in marriage to Lester A. Knight in Putnam C.ounty, Missouri. Lester was born Nov. 7, 1841, in McDonough Co., Ill. He died July 3, 1928 at the Soldier's Home, Los Angeles, California, aged 86 years, 7 months and 26 days, and was buried besides the remains of his second wife, Irene Johnson Knight, in the Oakdale Cemetery, Azusa, Ca. Their three children were: Their children were: Bede P., b. 15 Dec 1868; Martha M., b. 19 Aug 1870; & Amanda M. Knight, b. 3 Apr 1872.
