- ↑ Irene Joyce Mathison, 70, of Castle Rock passed away at the Hospice Care Center Dec. 24, 2007.
She was born Dec. 6, 1937, in Turner, Mich., to George and Isabelle (Washburn) Willman.
Irene was preceded in death by a son, Richard Allen Maryott Jr., her parents, six brothers and three sisters.
After living in Alaska for 12 years, she retired from the State of Alaska in March 1990 and returned to Washington.
She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, video games and spending time with friends and family. She was a very loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will truly be missed. She was a "lively" person whose company everyone greatly enjoyed.
Irene is survived by a daughter, Tina Maryott-Gordon (Chuck) of Juneau, Alaska; a stepdaughter, Shelley Maryott-Moore (Steve) of Longview; two granddaughters, Alicia Maryott of Kalama and Andrea Gordon of Juneau; two sisters, Mary Carson of Sterling, Mich., and Myrtle Mies (Jerome) of Kelso; a brother, Glenn Willman (Cindy) of Lexington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11 at the Living Word Christian Center, 1170 17th Ave., in Longview with Pastor Dan Maryott officiating. A celebration of her life will follow.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Medcure in Portland.
