    She was the daughter of George and Lottie Nettie Dean. She married Leroy Albert Zehr on June 14, 1955. He passed away on Oct. 29, 1967.

    One son, Larry, also preceded her in death in 1965.

    Surviving are two daughters, Susan (George) Chelikas and Marcia (David) Rigsby; and three sons, Dennis (Laurie) Zehr, Craig (Valeri) Zehr and Michael; one grandson, Andy (Stacy) Zehr; two granddaughters, Heather (Victor) Zehr and Becky (Jeff) Grady; as well as seven great-grandchildren.

    Irene worked for many years as a nurse at Parc. She worked with the Foster Grandparent program for the Community Action Agency and was involved with Friendship House.
