Irene Artist House

Graveside service for Irene Artist House, 84, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2002, at the Duncan City Cemetery.

Irene Artist House was born July 23, 1917, in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of Ray and Fannie Victoria (Remey) Barker, and died Thursday, April 4, 2002, in Oklahoma City.

She came to Chickasha from California 20 years ago.

Irene worked in the cotton fields and worked in maid service at motels. She enjoyed playing bingo and the slot machines. She also enjoyed fishing.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband: John House, 1 son, Ray House, 1 daughter, Helen Lafern Finney, and 4 brothers, William, Ray, Ballard and Loyd.

Survivors include: 5 daughters: Margaret Snip, of Seattle, Washington, Nina Cummings of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Jewel Harris, of Kingman, Arizona, Joan Johnson, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Pauline House, of California; 4 sons: Tommy House, of California, Leon House, of Kingman, Arizona, Johnny House, of Kingman, Arizona, Roger House of Ohio; 1 sister: Opal Jewel Ritz, of California; 23 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.
