Ila Jo Rich McPherson

BURLINGTON — Mrs. Ila Jo Rich McPherson, 85, of 2413 Blanche Drive, Burlington, died at Liberty Commons on Sunday, July 15, 2007, at 6:30 a.m.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Sidney Lawrence McPherson and the daughter of Joseph Wrightsell Rich Jewel Kimrey Rich, both deceased. She was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church and a Pink Lady at Alamance Regional Medical Center for 40 years.

Survivors include two sons, Mr. Sidney Keith McPherson and wife, Pat, of Rome Ga., and Mr. Joe Wade McPherson and wife, Celeste, of Snow Camp; four granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; and one brother, Mr. Edsel B. Rich of Snow Camp.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Louise Rich Clark and Miss Mary Kathleen Rich; and one brother, Mr. William Stanford Rich.

The funeral will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007, by the Rev. Marshall Old. The committal service will be held at Rock Creek United Methodist Church cemetery on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at noon.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2007. At other times they will be at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
