EARL E DENTON—Dated September 14, 1965—Pennfield—Many relatives and friends paid final tribute to Mrs. Ida May Denton, widow of Captain Earl E Denton of Pennfield and of Blacks Harbour, NB, at her funeral which was held from the St. George Funeral Home, following prayers, to the United Baptist Church where service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. Clyde A. Hicks, assisting him was Rev. A. D. Cann, pastor of the Reformed Baptist Church of Blacks Harbour.
    Six nephews acted as pallbearers, Merle Hooper, William Hooper, Medford Holland, Kirby Hooper, Merrill Dines and Ralph Hooper.
    Interment was in the family lot in the St. George Rural Cemetery.
    Mrs. Denton’s death occurred at her home in Pennfield following several weeks’ illness. Seventy-seven years of age, she was a daughter of the late William and Suzanna (Cook) Hooper, born August 20, 1888 at Back Bay and had been a resident of the Eastern section of Charlotte County all of her life. She was a member of the Christian Church of Back Bay.
    Twice married, her first husband wa the late Lemuel W Theriault of Back Bay, whose death occurred in Sept. 1936. Her second husband, the late Captain Earl E Denton of Blacks Harbour, died in Sept. 1963. A son, Maurice Theriault, died several years ago.
    Surviving their mother are five sons, Algy G Theriault of Montreal, Leonard Theriault of Beaver Harbour, Lucien Theriault, Calgary, Weldon Theriault, Pennfield, and Eugene Theriault of Yarmouth, NS; and three daughters, Mrs. Stanley C Nickerson (Dorothy) of St. Andrews, Mrs. Keith Nickerson (Minnie), St. George and Mrs. Alexander MacDonald (Lenora) of Toronto. Also surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. Robert Blakeney (Reta) of Hubbard, NS and two brothers, Peter E Hooper and Merrill Hooper Sr., both of Back Bay, and two sisters, Mrs. Alphonso French (Joanne) of Back Bay and Mrs. Prescott H Dines (Lillian) of St. Andrews, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
    Many beautiful floral tributes were received, as well as donations made to the Gideon Bibles and the memorial fund of the Cancer Society in Mrs. Denton’s memory.
    Members of the family, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Montreal, Calgary, Yarmouth, NS, Frederiction and from all sections of Charlotte County.
