Facts and Events
The History of Union, CT. relates: "Deacon Humphrey Cram was one of the original members of the church at Union, and the first deacon. He lived just over the line at South Brimfield, and it is about him that the story is told of James McNall's objecting to his praying at the raising of the meeting-house, because 'he did not own a foot of land in town'." His children are recorded under the name "Crane" in the Windham VR. They were not married there. His marriage is not found at Lisbon. No online source seems to know where they died. Humphrey and Hannah were 2nd cousins, through their ggrandfather William Ballard. His mother's mother and her father's mother were sisters. See also Donovan, Rev.
