Hugh1 Rowe (Roe) had land granted to him at Weymouth, west of John Burrell's, north of Richard Waling's, on King Oke Hill, north of John Whitman's, south of Robert Lovell's. (Land Grants, 259, 264, 265, 268, 276.) He was granted lot 21, of eight acres, in the First Division, 14 Dec. 1663, and lot 51 of twenty-four acres in the Second Division. (Ibid. 282, 283.) His wife was Abigail _____, and he lived in Weymouth from 1655 to 1663 and perhaps for a longer period. According to Savage's Genealogical Dictionary he removed to Suffield, Conn., where he died 5 Aug. 1689. His wife Abigail died there 3 Sept. 1689. He had 60 acres granted to him in Suffield 24 June, 1674. He must be distinguished from Hugh Rowe of Gloucester, 1667.

Hugh Roe d in Suffield 5 Aug 1689 at the estimated age of 72. His will, filed in North Hampton, divided his estate between his s Peter and the living daus; the elder son Samuel having d a year or two earlier. It is also provided that his wife Abigail be cared for by Peter. Presumably she was ailing which seems to be confirmed by her death a month later, 3 Sep 1689.
