    The following information comes from the (Abstract of Wills and Estate Records of Rowan County, North Carolina, 1753-1805, Book B, page 123.)
    Hugh Parks Senior's will was probated in Rowan County in 1781, with sons John Parks and Hugh Parks Jr. serving as executors of the estate. Hugh Parks Senior's wife's name was Margaret. She died December 14, 1787, and her will was probated in 1788. John and Hugh Parks were named as executors.

    Hugh Sr. lived in the Cottle Creek area of Rowan County. He and Margaret are buried at Cottle Creek Church. The church sits on land donated by Hugh Sr.
    Hugh Sr.'s son John who died 5-21-1795 at 44 years of age is also buried there, John's son John Hugh Parks born 1-11-1792 died 1890 and his wife Margaret are also buried there.

    "I have been going through some histories other than those on our website. One was written by a lady in the congregation in the 60's and it states:
    "The original plot of ground consisted of 220 acres and was donated by Hugh Parks, who according to records in Salisbury, NC, had bought 640 acres of land from James Huggins, May 24, 1753."
