HOWARD PUGH
Howard Pugh was born Jan.5, 1894 at the old home place of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Pugh, in Dist. 9. About 3 years ago the family moved to Neal where the mother and father have since passed from this life.
In Dec 1920 Howard was united in marriage with Miss Pearl Cumarine.
They made their home at Neal until a few week when they moved to Eureka where he had secured employment on the Rogers oil lease.
Friday morning Sept 1 he was struck on the head by a heavy weight that was thrown from the top of the derrick. He never regained consciousness and passed away Saturday morning, Sept 2, 1922.
Howard was an industrious young man of quiet disposition and all who knew him held him high respect.
He leaves to mourn his absence, his wife, two sisters, Anna Livingstone and Nellie Pugh of Neal, two brothers, Homer of Dist. 9 and David of near Quincy.
Funeral services were held at Neal Sunday at 2 P.M. conducted by Rev. Boicourt of Quincy.
