Howard Luther Miller, 73, of 75 2nd Street NE, Carrollton, formerly of Kilgore, died Saturday morning in his home after a long illness. Born April 19, 1896, in Loudon Twp., a son of the late George W. and Hattie Belle (Slates) Miller, he had been a lifetime resident of Carroll County. Mr. Miller had retired in 1965 as a watchman at the Carrollton Mfg. Co. In his early life, he had been an oil well pumper. He was a member of the Amsterdam Loyal Order of Moose.
Mr. Miller was married March 25, 1916, to the former Nellie Kohler, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, George of Rt. 1, Amsterdam, and Carl D. and Charles E., both of Rt. 3, Carrollton; a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur (Doris) Johnson of Scio; one brother, John, and a sister, Mrs. Veda Taggart, both of Kilgore, and 10 grandchildren. Three brothers are deceased. Services were Tuesday at the Allmon Funeral Home here with Rev. John Seskes of the Cathedral of Tomorrow, Akron, officiating. burial was in the Kilgore Cemetery.
