SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Howard A. Hipskind, 94, Springfield, Mo. died at 10:51 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2003, in his home.
He was born March 11, 1909, in Wabash, Indiana, to Aloysius Francis and Mary Agnes (Fleck) Hipskind. He was married to June Moore Hipskind and she preceded him in death.
He worked as a quality control manager at General Tire and Rubber Company. He was a volunteer at the Kitchen, St. John's Regional Health Center, Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Cursillo.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Sara) Montgomery, Springfield, Mo.; a son, Nicholas (Sandra) Hipskind, Bloomington; a sister, Sr. M. Dolores CSC, Notre Dame; a brother, Robert Hipskind, Wabash; six grandchildren, Barry, David and Ann Montgomery, Heidi Wisen, Nicole Huff and Andrew Hipskind; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas Reidy officiated.
The Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, Springfield, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
There will be a Memorial Mass in St. Bernard Catholic Church, followed by burial in Falls Cemetery at a later date.
