    Note: Occupation given as "sign painter," not railroad employee, so he was probably "riding the rails," which was not uncommon by those looking for work during the Great Depression.

    Note also that the obit says "he either fell or was pushed," which may be what the family was told by the Arizona authorities

    FIELDS FUNERAL HELD SATURDAY.

    Services held At Christian Church With Rev. Jones Officiating - Burial In Green Hill.

    Funeral services for, Howard Parker Fields, 27, son of Mr. and Mrs. Campbell Fields, 1315 twenty-first street, who was fatally injured March 14 when he either fell or was pushed from a freight train near Yuma, Arizona, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock the First Christian Church with the Rev. Joel Lee Jones, pastor, in charge. A large number of friends attended the services.

    Rev. Jones entoned " Sometime We'll Remember" and Miss Bess Smith accompanied by Mrs. Harry George at the organ sang, "It Is Well With My Soul." Pall bearers were Roger Cannady, Joy Lively, Marshall Hatfield, Herman Davis, Charles Marsh and Claude Byers. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Joy Lively, Mrs. Roger Cannady, Miss Ruth Bowers, Miss Ruby Bowden and Miss Alma Bowden. Burial was made in Green Hill cemetery.
