The session of the Ninth Ave. church desires to pay tribute to the memory of Dr. Howard Buchanan, who passed away Jan. 2, 1945. Dr. Buchanan was a life long member of the Ninth Ave. church of Monmouth, ILl. and his passing has created a vacancy that will be hard to fill. His broad misisonary vision did much to stimulate the whole congregation in regard to both the Foreign and Local phases of spreading the Gospel. His wise counsels in matters of church administration were a vital contributon to the local work. His participation in the work of the Session was of a timely and practical nature, the cause of the Lord being always uppermost in his mind. His personal life was a triumphant example of the sustaining grace of Jesus Christ, and though we greatly miss his presence in our midst, the memory of his triumphant life will be an inspiration for many years to come.
