   Monroe Bailey and his wife also had an adopted daughter, Hortense Kennedy, who is the wife of Charles Lennan, a real estate man at Morebridge, South Dakota.

   Her mother died the year she was born, 1864. Her father died in 1874 and she was listed on the 1870 census in the Kennedy household, but she was also listed on the 1870 census in the Bailey household. Will have to look for the adoption records. Monroe Bailey was her mother's brother.
