"Although no vital, church, land, or probate record was found to confirm this Hopestill White was the wife of Daniel Taft and Jonathan Lovel, the well-respected Chapin Book identifies Daniel's wife as Hopestill White. Furthermore, a survey by Neil Thompson of females named Hopestill in Mendon, born within that decade or even a 15-year period, uncovered no other Hopestill who could be his wife. The Chapin, White, and Taft families intermarried frequently."
