    Hopefor Bendall, mariner, was of London March 14, 1708-9, at which time he disposed of certain lands at Merrimac, left him by Samuel Scarlet in 1675 (Suffolk Deeds, Lib. xxiv., p. 249). He had also appeared at Boston as early as 1666, as commander of a vessel sailing between New England, New York and Old England."
