"The 9th of May, 1667. Mr Hope for Bendall deposed before the Gouernor, major Generall Leuerett & Recorder, to the Inuentory of the Estate of the late Allice Lisle, his mother in Lawes Estate."
Hopefor Bendall, mariner, was of London March 14, 1708-9, at which time he disposed of certain lands at Merrimac, left him by Samuel Scarlet in 1675 (Suffolk Deeds, Lib. xxiv., p. 249). He had also appeared at Boston as early as 1666, as commander of a vessel sailing between New England, New York and Old England."
