    In the Name of God Amen I Hodsoll Sale of Bearsted in the County of Kent Yeoman being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) First and principally I with great humility recommend my Soul to Almighty God and my body I commit to the earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named and as to the worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give devise bequeath and dispose thereof in the following manner (that is to say) Whereas in and by the Settlement made on my Marriage with my present wife Mary late Mary Ducksbery widow all that my messuage with the barns stable outhouses edifices and Buildings and several pieces or parcels of Land containing by estimation fifteen acres more or less with their and every of their appurtenances situate lying and being in the parish of Thurnham in the said County and also all that one other messuage with the yard garden and appurtenances thereunto belonging or therewith used lately erected and built by one Samuel Athawes upon parcel of the yard and ground heretofore of and belonging to the said messuage and Farm before mentioned all which said premises were then and now are in the several tenures or occupations of Samuel Sale, Richard Codarl? and me the said Hodsoll Sale or our assignes or undertenants were settled and conveyed to Trustees to the use of me and my heirs until the marriage then to such person or persons and for such estate and estates as I and the said Mary Ducksbery should by any deed or deeds writing or writings direct limit or appoint Remainder to me for life Remainder to the said Mary Ducksbery for life Remainder to the issue of our Marriage whether sons or daughters equally with Cross Remainders remainder to me and my heirs as by the said settlement may more fully appear now.
    I the said Hodsoll Sale do by this my last will and testament give and devise all my said messuages Lands Tenements hereditaments and real estate hereinbefore mentioned after the decease of my said wife Mary without issue of her body by me begotten unto and amongst my three sisters Martha Thompson now the wife of Thomas Thompson of Sundryth in the said County Farmer Elizabeth Colegate now the wife of John Colegate of Chevening in the said County Malster and Sarah Allman now the wife of Thomas Allman of Weavering in the parish of Boxley in the said County Farmer to have and to hold the same premisesand every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto my said three sisters Martha Thompson Elizabeth Colegate and Sarah Allman equally to be divided between them share and share alike as tenants in common and not as joint tenants and the heirs of their several bodies respectively issuing and if either of my said sisters shall happen to be without leaving issue of her body lawfully begotten then as to the part or share of her or them so dying without issue to the use and behoof of the survivors and survivor of them my said sisters and the heirs of the body and bodies of such survivor and survivors to take in like manner as tenants in common and not as joint tenants and if all said sisters shall die without leaving any issue of their bodies lawfully begotten then I give and devise the said premises and every part and parcel thereof unto my own right heirs for ever.
    Also I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Mary nall and singular my household goods Monies Stock upon my Farms and all other my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever she paying thereout all my just debts Legacies Funeral Expenses and the costs of proving this my will and other incidentcharges and I do constitute and appoint my said wife Mary sole executrix of this my will and I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made and declare this to be my last will and testament In witness whereof the said Hodsoll Sale to this my last will and testament contained in two sheets of paper to the first sheet thereof have set my hand and to the second and last sheet thereof my hand and seal the twenty fourth day of May in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and sixty eight Hodsoll Sale Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator Hodsoll Sale as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in his presence and at his request.     On the twenty ninth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and three administration with the will annexed of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of Hodsoll Sale late of Bearsted in the county of Kent deceased was granted to Mary Ducksbury Webb wife of Richard Webb the natural and lawful daughter and only child of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer Mary Sale wife of the testator and the sole executrix and residuary legatee named in the said will dying in the life time of the said testator.
