Babcock, 66, of Redfield, died Saturday at his home. Born May 9, 1914 in Copenhagen NY, he was the son of Eugene and Bertha Clement Babcock. He attended Carthage area schools. He was married May 9, 1939 to Alice Montieth. Babcock served from 1942-1946 in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed by Camden Wire Co. for 19 years and retired in 1976 due to ill health. He was a member of Robert Edwards Post 358, American Legion, Pulaski. Surviving are his wife, Alice; three sons, Eugene and Allan both of Redfield, Steven of Williamstown; five daughters, Miss Bertha Babcock of Redfield, Mrs. Fred (Carol) Britton of Williamstown, Mrs. George (Barbara) Darling of Redfield, Mrs. Merton (Alice) Shaw of Pulaski, and Mrs. Eugene (Elizabeth) Stevenson of Mexico; 10 grandchildren and a sister... Services will be held Tuesday... at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, the Rev. John Gillette Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. References
