Obituary

Hilda Grace (Medaugh) Morris, 87, of Van wert, died at 5:47 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Spencerville, Ohio, to the late Hazel (Herring) Medaugh and John Glen Medaugh. Her husband, David Wayne Morris, died Nov. 1, 2006. They were married July 21, 1946...She is preceded in death by a son: David Gregory Morris, and sisters: Martha Rose Medaugh, Joan Hutson and Jane Gerard.

She was a homemaker and During WWII had worked in the office at the Lima Take Depot. She was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church, Venedocia, Ohio, where she had held many different offices. She was a graduate of Spencerville High School, a former member of Van Wert YWCA, Psi Iota Psi social sorority in Van Wert, a life member of Spencerville VFW Post 6772 Auxiliary, and a member of Van Wert American Legion Post 178 Auxiliary.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at Salem Presbyterian Church, Venedocia. The Rev. Tom Emery will officiate. Private family burial will be held at Venedocia Cemetery, Venedocia. Visitation is 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at the church. Preferred memorial is Salem Presbyterian Church.
