BIOGRAPHY: !Descendants of Roger Williams Familytreemaker.com Portiat and Biographical Album: Ogle County,Illinois 1885 Hezekiah was a blacksmith and farmer. He lived in Adams,Jefferson,New York and came to Ogle County,Illinois,in 1885 At the age of 16 years Mr. Knight became the apprentice of a man named James Chalssles, of Sherburn, to learn the business of blacksmith. He engaged to remain in that service five years. After the expiration of that time he operated one year as a journeyman and then established a large trip-hammer shop at Middlefield, in Herkimer County. His establishment was located on the west branch of Canada Creek and he utilized the waters of that stream in running the machinery of his shop, a considerable portion of which was necessarily of a heavy character. He was compelled by impaired health to abandon his business there and a move was made to a farm in Richland,Oswego County. He remainded there six years and at the end of that time went to Adams,Jefferson County, for the purpose of educating his children. He came in the spring of 1856 to Illinois and settled at Lynnville,Ogle County. His first purchase of land included 240 acres and a few years later he bought 160 additional acres.
