    "14. Hezekiah4 (Hopkins) (Ebenezer,3 Stephen,2 John1), b. at Hartford 21 November 1701; m. at Harwinton, Connecticut, 3 June 1742, Sarah3 Davis, b. 1722, daughter of Lieut. Nathan4 (Jabez,3 John,2 Dolor1) Davis, b. 2 March 1690, and Elizabeth Phinney, b. at Barnstable, Massachusetts, 11 April 1690. He d. 24 June 1780, at Harwinton; she d. there 22 October 1790, aged 68. (Her gravestone says, '768th Year.')

He was one of the original settlers of Harwinton and had land allotted to him 11 May 1732, and in May 1733. The first town meeting was held at his house, and he was chosen 'constabool.' In 1740 he was one of the fifty adults living there, and was among the signers of a petition, 17 September 1751, against the creation of the county of Litchfield. (Chipman's History of Harwinton, pp. 28, 104, 109.) His will, dated 17 November 1779, was probated at Litchfield 27 September 1780. (Litchfield Probate Records, 4:43; 5:359.) In it he bequeaths one-third of his estate to his wife and two-thirds to his eleven children. Six daughters were then married—Sarah, Elizabeth, Abigail, Dorcas, Rebecca, and Experience. Descendants of Hezekiah4 say that he married (1) in 1736, Mrs. Joanna or Anna Weston, who d. in 1740. Harwinton records give a daughter Mary, b. January 1740, who is supposed to have died in infancy."
