Hess, Hezekiah, b. 10/9/1756 in Dutchess County, New York; brought as infant to Hampshire County, Virginia; entered service in Greenbrier County, Virginia or Bath County, Virginia; granted Pension 1833 in Lewis County, Virginia; name dropped from Pension Rolls by Pension Office later that year since alleged service apparently not performed; died 10/4/1848 there, leaving no widow but children: Charity wife of Thomas Hacher, Mary wife of Thomas [s/b Travis] Parsons, Matilda wife of Mr. Stanley, Melissa & Abraham; in 1860 daughter Nancy, wife of Isaac Williams, had moved West but not heard of for 20 years; query letter in file in 1925 from descendant Gertrude Hacker Bird, Wichita, Kansas, who was also a descendant of Revolutionary War soldier's Thomas S. Hacker & Alexander Hacker. F-S8707, R1252.
