Herta “Helen” Damerow Thompson, 70, of 4401 Bass Mountain Road, died at noon Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at her residence. A native of Treuenheide, Germany, she was the wife of Dewey Lee Thompson, who died May 22, 1982, and the daughter of the late Karl Damerow and Frieda nee Witte Damerow. She was retired from Lemco Hosiery Mill and was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church. She attended Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs.. Donald (Cindy) McIntyre of Hillsborough; a son, Mr. Mark (Becky) Thompson of Snow Camp; and three grandchildren, Johnathan McVey, Tori Thompson, and Dylan Thompson. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Steve Loy. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 3 to 5 p.m. today, and at other times at the residence.
