=======================================

Obituary "Herman Zemky fatally injured while felling a tree" A sad accident occurred last Thursday when Herman Zemke was cutting down a tree which lodged in a small tree, in cutting the latter it kicked back hitting Mr. Zemke in the the stomach. Medical aid was at once summoned and he was rushed to Barron but he was so badly injured that nothing could be done for him and death relieved him from his suffering 5 o'clock Friday morning.

Deceased was born in Germany June 13, 1878. Death is sad at all times but when a husband and father is taken away in the prime of his life it is doubly so. He was a loving husband and an ideal father who performed so nobly the many tasks in rearing a family. he was a good neighbor and friend and his untimely death has cast a shadow over the entire community.

Those left to mourn the loss are his wife and 8 children, the oldest 17 years of age, 6 sisters and 1 brother (sz - incorrect 1 sister and 7 brothers). The funeral was held at the German Lutheran Church Monday afternoon Rev Schwermen officiating and the body laid to rest in the cemetery there.

==================

From funeral notice "The deceased who, while logging, met a sudden and violent death, was a devout Christian, a regular attendant at divine worship, for many years an officer of his congregation and he died as one of its elders. In his memory, his only brother, Mr. Chas. Zemke and wife, gave a Mindekranz of $10.00 for our missions."
