Vachon Herman R, 85, LaVerna Terrace Apartments, died May 8. He was born in Allen County April 14, 1901, the son of William and Christina (Nussbaum) Vachon. He married Hilda Massbaum Nov. 10, 1925. She died in 1972. He was a retired farmer and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Avilla and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Surviving are one daughter, Catherine Weigold, Columbia City; one son, James L., Fort Wayne; three sisters, Hilda Isaacs, Mary Graft and Berniece Wirtner, Fort Wayne; one brother, William, Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services were Monday at St. Mary’s Church. Burial, Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. ~ 5-15-1986 + 5-8-1986
