1917 he witnessed Alex Holmes marriage and in 1920 Alexander Holmes, a widower, was living them. Assume this is the son of Belle's aunt, Mary Rose. 1930 he was a general farmer.

Obituary

HERBERT C. SWEET

  Herbert C. Sweet, 90, of East Jordan, died March 22, 1985, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility.  Services were held last week at the Vanderwall Funeral Home.  Burial was in Morehouse Cemetery in Antrim County.
  Mr. Sweet was born Dec. 16, 1894, in East Jordan.  He married the former Belle Murphy on June 12, 1918, in East Jordan.  The couple made their home in Echo Township where Mr. Sweet operated a farm for 23 years.  He later worked for the street department in East Jordan.  He was a woodsman and avid sportsman.
   Mr. Sweet is survived by: his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Kathleen) Peck of East Jordan; four sons, Basil H. of Petoskey, Versil D. of Grand Haven, and Lawrence J. and Stanley C., both of East Jordan; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Touchstone of East Jordan, and Mrs. Maude Ellis of Pontiac.
  The family suggests memorials to Grandvue Medical Care Facility.
