My mother was good friends with her. She remembers a time she invited Hattie and Bert over for dinner and cooked noodle kugel, but didn't know that she had to cook the noodles first. Of course, it came out VERY crunchy. She said that Hattie and Bert ate it and never said a word, but also never came back for a dinner.

After my grandparents moved to Florida, they didn't go back to New Hyde Park. But for at least a few years before they moved they would spend time in Florida during the winter. The warmer climate was good for my grandmother's health, so this is why they moved there permanently. (Per John Hymo)

Bert and Rae didn't actually get married, but did continue living in Bert and Hattie's home.
