Retired Man Ends Life

A year and a half ago, Herbert J. Harvey quit his job at the Pacific School Supply Company at 2182 Bryant Street. A onetime printer, he had a key to a small building in the rear of the supply plant. It was there, in the small building, that he had worked. When he left however, he did not turn in the key to plant officials. Yesterday, Harvey returned and used the key once more, for the last time. Inside the small building, at a desk, he scribbled a note to his wife, June, telling her he was in poor health. Then Harvey, 51, tied one end of a rope to a rafter, the other around his neck. Oscar Carlson, of 951 Alabama Street, arriving for work, found Harvey dead, a suicide. He resided at 101 Gonzales Drive. [source Rich Harvey]
