The medial ittem in this file that is a PDF and is entitled "George, Hannah and Herb Bodner" is a picture taken of them before they left Portland and moved to Brooklyn. Herb's death is recorded in the JewishGen.org database under : World Wide Burial Registry: Oregon

Herb had a blood disease for about 25 years. Per Molly Bodner on 6/5/10 email. One of his many jobs was as a detective in 1932, in New Jersey, working on the Charles Lindbergh Jr. kidnapping case. The investigation continued until 1934, when the body was found In 1939, the family moved back to Oregon. Herb had many friends and was reluctant to leave New York, but he did. In Portland, he met the lovely Molly Subotnick, who became his wife. He also started a restaurant business with his new brother-in-law, Lou Buchwach. Next, they started a wholesale toy business, Northern Specialty Sales, which prospered and grew to become the largest toy business on the west coast, including Alaska. When the business was sold, the partners formed BB&S Development Co. investing in real estate. Herb and Molly produced two of my four prized nephews, Jay and Floyd. Herb died in 2002 at age 88.
