I have a Nix/Freeman file that I have been building as well. I am hoping to get some time around Thanksgiving to update it and I'll forward the GED file to you. I work in the financial services industry in Boston, so things have been really crazy, especially since the tragic attack on 9/11. Here's a bit of information and I promise you more. You have done an amazing amount of work on Jennings Nix's descendents. Your grandson is very lucky. He will now have a great understanding and appreciation for his heritage and name. Are you the Dalton in the file who is the son of Robert Earl Nix? We'll have to compare notes on the files. I have, what I believe to be, a valid line going back to James or John Nix b. 1660. There is some other information on the Web that goes beyond that, but I don't believe it has real documentation. I have done a fair amount on Elizabeth Freeman's line (Ruth's mom). Her father was James Levin Freeman (minister, Civil War veteran of the 47th Alabama) and his father was John Freeman (fought in the War of 1812). It is pretty amazing to talk to Grandmother. I have her handwritten notes about all of her siblings. She remembers her grandfather J.L Freeman riding in to visit. I hope this helps for now. Warmest Regards, Gene Abernethy ps I am glad you didn't get the computer virus. My dear wife was opening e-mail and triggered it, but she did get a note out quickly to people.
