The Times Leader Princeton Kentucky August 3, 1994 Lyon County H. C. Thorpe, 79, of Eddyville, died Saturday, July 30th, a t 10:55 a.m. at Livingston County Hospital in Salem. Funeral services were held Monday, August 1st, at 11:00 a.m . at Dunn s Funeral Home in Eddyville with the Rev. Phili p Shutt officiating. Burial followed in Rolling Hills Cemetery, Eddyville, Ky. Mr. Thorpe was a son of the late James F. and Elizabeth Hoo ks Thorpe. A lifelong resident of Lyon County, he was a heavy equipmen t mechanic. He was a member of Moulton Baptist Church in the Confederat e Community and was preceded in death by two granddaughters. Survivors include his wife, Mary Hill Thorpe; two sons, Ro d Thorpe and Harlan Thorpe, both of Eddyville; two daughter s, Catherine Hastings and Melva Slanac, both of Eddyville ; one sister, Rebecca Gray, Kuttawa; 10 grandchildren and 1 2 great-grandchildren.
