- Major Henry Tew1654 - 1718
Facts and Events
The will of Maj. Henry Tew listed 14 children living in 1718. The Genealogical Dictionary of RI named twelve born between 1680 and 1703, and RI vital records listed five unnamed children (four called sons and one with no sex given) born between 1701 and 1711.
Of the births of four unidentified sons, the one born 1703 was Edward2 who died in 1749 at 45, and the one born in 1711 was James who died in 1784 in his 73rd year. Based on George being listed before Thomas in Henry's will, he is likely the one born in 1706, leaving Thomas as the one born 1709/10. The exact birth dates of John, Elizabeth, Sarah, and Edward1 are are not known.
