Facts and Events
HENRY AUGUSTUS STARR (1839-1934) "He was the oldest ctizen in the town of Morris at the time of his death. He was the last survivor of the 11 children of Samuel and Mabel (Hendrix) Starr. He was born on the farm where he spent his entire life, and where his father also was born. He was highly respected by all who knew bim. Of an exceedingly optimistic nature, he made many friends, all of whom will cherish his memory. He was always interested in any movement which would further the development of his town, and had the distinction of having cast the first ballot at every election or town meeting held in Morris for over 60 years, until 8 years ago, when he broke his hip and could no longer get along unassisted. (Ed: Lee told how his dad had to shoot his horse then, because it was getting to old to ride!) During his declining years, he resided with his son, Lee, who tenderly cared for him. He was a member of St. Stephen's Chapel, Maple Grove and is buried in the family plot at Hillington cemetery." Morris obituary
