Henry C. Ridder, son of Chris and Jenna Conrads Ridder, Sr., was born in Germany on Jan. 12, 1905. At the age of four, he moved to the United States with his parents and they lived in the Aplington area on a farm. Following his marriage on Feb. 20, 1929, with Elizabeth Hulzebus, at Austinville, they continued to live on a farm near Aplington, until retirement when they moved to their home in Aplington.
Mr. Ridder has been hospitalized since Feb. 24 at Waterloo and died on Thursday, March 6th at the age of 70 years 1 month and 20 days.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; 1 son, Chris of Aplington; 3 daughters, Jenna, Mrs. Lyle Boorom of Cedar Falls, Arlene, Mrs. Robert Tack of Holland, and Linda, Mrs. James Woodley of Ackley; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Chris Ridder Jr. of Parkersburg and Herman Ridder of Cedar Falls; 2 sisters, Mrs. Carl Dreesman and Mrs. George Boelman, both of Parkersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters and a Daughter, Angeline.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, March 10, at the First Reformed church of Aplington.
